Fagerhult x Nobel Week Lights – a partnership highlighting innovation and a brighter future
Ahead of this year’s edition of Nobel Week Lights, Fagerhult becomes Principal Partner of the Nobel Prize Museum’s growing light festival. The collaboration extends over three years and is initiated during Nobel Week, December 2–10, in Stockholm.
Nobel Week Lights is presented by the Nobel Prize Museum and is a tribute through the art of light to the Nobel Prize laureates and their contributions to the greatest benefit to humankind. This year’s light festival takes place at seventeen locations around central Stockholm and is open to the public.
“We look forward to a close collaboration with a focus on light, knowledge, and innovations where people and a sustainable future are in absolute focus,” says Frida Almqvist, Managing Director at Fagerhult Sweden.
A solid shared passion for light and innovation links the partnership between Nobel Week Lights and Fagerhult. The light festival’s creative connection to outstanding research – where people can experience light together – aligns with Fagerhult’s vision of creating light for better living.
“I am delighted we are collaborating with Fagerhult on Nobel Week Lights. They have a great commitment and knowledge about how light affects people's well-being in various environments,” says Erika Lanner, Museum Director at the Nobel Prize Museum.
During the light festival, Swedish and international artists illuminate the December darkness with innovative light installations where unique interpretations convey Nobel Prize laureates and their research. Among this year's artists is Miguel Chevalier, a pioneer within virtual and digital art and one of the world's most prominent artists within lighting design. His work creates a unique experience of light, and he is one of the most significant artists on the contemporary scene.
“Being part of Nobel Week Lights is truly a great honor. We want to establish strong, international networks where we can collaborate around how to create a more sustainable future,” says Frida Almqvist, Managing Director at Fagerhult Sweden.
Nobel Week Lights is open to the public and attracts a large international audience. It offers 60 guided tours to experience large-scale public light art around Stockholm.
“The light festival is a fantastic opportunity to participate in science and culture when Stockholm is at its darkest,” says Erika Lanner, Museum Director at the Nobel Prize Museum.
