Citygrid
How it works
Citygrid is a smart wireless lighting control system that balances the need to minimise energy with the needs of light at a specific location. Motion detection ensures no energy is wasted. Roads, bike paths and parking spaces remain illuminated at lower levels when not used.
With occupancy detection, the light level for a specified number of luminaires is increased to a predefined level, e.g. 100 percent. The luminaires turn on ahead of you and remain on behind you for a set time after you’ve passed. The number of luminaires that will light when people are present and for how long – as well as the level the luminaires will be dimmed to after they leave – is easily managed via the Citygrid map overview. Occupancy detection is carried out with a passive infrared (PIR) sensor and the luminaires communicate via a radio protocol (6LoWPAN 868.3 MHz).
Simple programming
The system is easily commissioned onsite using an app and a Bluetooth dongle. The system is built as a mesh, meaning all luminaires serve both as masters and slaves communicating with each other. After initial programming, it’s enough to connect to one luminaire to reach the others. Each installation is assigned a unique identity and password entered when connecting. It is possible to use custom settings to match various traffic conditions or to choose between the predefined lighting scenarios that come with the app. Citygrid is available for Android devices.
