CE-marking
In order for a luminaire to be marketed in the EU/EES region it must be equipped with a CE-mark.
The CE-marking, which is compulsory, means that the manufacturer certifies to the authorities that the product conforms to relevant safety requirements within the EU. Impartial testing for most products is not required.
