Padel hall

Padel is a sport involving rapid turns and where the ball can be played in all directions. Due to the high speed of the game, and the ball bouncing against both walls and the floor, good lighting is required across the entire court.

The right light for both the professional and the hobby player

Padel is played in a compact space, where the player encounters the ball from various directions and the background is constantly changing. To make the game easier, it is important to have good vertical light as well as good uniformity. An asymmetrical lighting solution is used to avoid players being dazzled during a game when they have to look up. The luminaires are positioned along the sides of the court and the light is directed inwards. For hobby playing up to lower level competitions, we recommend 500 lx on the court. The luminaires and their louvre shutters must not only create good lighting, but also be robust in order to withstand impacts from high flying balls.

Standard for sports lighting

As in many other areas, there is a standard for lighting sports facilities. The standard SS-EN 12193:2018, Light and lighting - Sports lighting, defines the lighting requirements for different sports divided into multiple classes, where you can find light levels for school sports, training and competitions at all levels.
