The modern and energy-efficient Bridge Hospital/Siltasairaala is an internationally recognized hospital equipped with state-of-the-art technology. Opened for patient use at the beginning of 2023, the Bridge Hospital is the largest construction project in the history of HUS (Helsinki University Hospital).
The hospital has e.g. 16 operating theatres, 215 infirmaries, 58 intensive care units and Europe's first RAPTOR operating room. The construction of the hospital started in 2018 and the construction work was completed in 2022. The technology and design of the modern hospital are top class. Siltasairaala won the public projects series of the information modeling Tekla Global BIM 2020 competition.
A total of approx. 14,000 luminaires were delivered to the hospital project, half of which were delivered by Fagerhult. For example, the intensive care rooms use Multilume Hydro Tunable White with colour temperature control, so the lighting can be adjusted separately to the patient's circadian rhythm and to calming the atmosphere of the space.
