Industry and high heights

Loading area

This is the final stop in the products’ journey through all the stages in the industrial process. This area is used to varying degrees during the day, and  therefore the lighting needs to be flexible and to follow the presence and movement of the staff.

Loadinga area

Light only when needed

Goods are handled continuously around the clock, and it is important for the staff to be able to read labels and shipping documents without any difficulty. The minimum requirement for the lighting in this space is 200 lx. We recommend wide beam luminaires for better glare control and greater light comfort for employees.

Lighting control in loading areas

This space is used intensively at certain times of the day and more sporadically at other times, depending on when deliveries are being made. A control system including motion detectors can dim the lighting when the area is not in use and ensure that there is always light when it is needed. The e-Sense Move Highbay lighting control system detects occupancy via sensors and then activates a preset number of luminaires, creating seamless and energy-efficient lighting for the entire space.

Standard

No two industries are the same and it is therefore difficult to give general advice, but as a rule the standard EN 12464-1 applies to the lighting of workplaces indoors. When planning lighting, you need to have a good understanding of the layout of the area, as well as the tasks that are to be performed.
